Kicking of Dallas’ biggest art weekend of the year, the seventh annual Dallas Art Fair Preview Gala, held at F.I.G., brought out the city’s art heavies for a night of Ruinart champagne, social mixing, and sold stickers. Some of the area’s most esteemed galleries—Barry Whistler, William Campbell, Talley Dunn Gallery, and Conduit—hung with the national and international likes of London’s Jonathan Viner, Martos Gallery, and L.A.’s OHWOW. There was plenty of fashion to take in, as well (F.I.G. does, after all, stand for Fashion Industry Gallery): Christie’s SVP Capera Ryan stunned in a floral Valentino cocktail dress, and art- and fashion- collector Christen Wilson’s Dior wicker booties were so cool they’d stop any art lover dead in their tracks. And you can always count on seeing local attorney and bon vivant John Reoch, accessorized with a custom topper and a fresh bloom in his lapel, naturally. Neiman Marcus, a DAF sponsor, represented, too, with Karen Katz, Jim Gold, and Wanda Gierhart navigating the white-walled art maze. The Preview Gala benefits the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Dallas Contemporary.
