Our Fashion Director’s Festival Do’s and Don’ts
April 22, 2016
Headed to Lolla, Coachella, or Glastonbury? Before you pack your bags, get top tips for stealing the show at this year’s biggest festivals.
DO: Embrace a bare shoulder.
“I love a cold-shoulder top—a halter or a top with cutouts would be a great option—paired with cropped denim.”
DON’T: Be afraid to experiment with your look.
“Dare to be different! Festivals are the place to be fashion-forward. Try out different trends.”
DO: Rock the choker.
“Chokers are a major focus for fall! Get ahead of the trend and wear the look this festival season. Velvet and brass tones are all big.”
DON’T: Forget to apply (and reapply) sunscreen.
“Sunscreen is a must. The higher the SPF, the better. I wear SPF 50 every day. Don’t leave the house without it—and pile it on.”
DO: Retire your flower crown.
“I recommend a unique, updated headwrap. Wrap a cool scarf around your forehead a couple of times. Mix and match prints and have fun.”
DON’T: Wear heavy makeup.
“Keep it natural with glowing skin and a bold red lip.”
DO: Leave your heels at home.
“I love a block heel, but for festivals I suggest comfy cool sneakers or a sandal that wraps and ties.”
DON’T: Forget to bring a fabulous bag packed with your essentials.
“Spring is all about the embellished bag. Go hands-free with a crossbody stocked with moisturizing lip balm, antibacterial gel, and a face mist.”
DO: Have fun with your accessories.
“Go overboard with your jewelry and accessories. Showcase your personal style and stand out.”
