Ready For Takeoff? Here’s the Hat to Pack (and How to Do it Right!)
May 12, 2016
Fact: One of summer vacay’s biggest essentials is the hardest to pack. Acclaimed milliner ERIC JAVITS has solved the issue with a lightweight, straw-like material (Squishee®) that provides maximum 50+ UVA/UVB protection and retains its shape — even after being crushed in an overhead bin. Among our favorites: the classic fedora ($250), which is Insta-ready with your bikini and cuffed boyfriend jeans.
Don’t want to wear your hat on the plane or you’re bringing more than one? Pack it in your luggage by rolling small items of clothing (socks, yoga tanks, etc.) and gently stuffing them inside the hat to support the crown. After lining the bottom of your luggage with sturdier clothing, lay the hat on top with the brim flat. Then, pack around it so nothing sits on top.
