Here, no one was sad to hit the books on a Saturday. The day’s subjects included Gym, Science, English, Art, and of course, recess! Attendees got creative while drawing in the life-size coloring book, exploring secret lockers, and playing dress-up in the Neiman Marcus Dream Closet.
Meanwhile in the classroom, Noisemakers led workshops on self-affirmation, technology, and fitness. Missed class? It’s ok, we took notes…
5 WAYS TO END NEGATIVITY, BE MORE GENUINE, AND EXPRESS YOURSELF
with poet, artist, and inspirational speaker Cleo Wade
1. Let it go.
“We tend to hold on to rejections and disappointments, which creates blocks that make it difficult to see ourselves for who we really are.”
2. Recognize the power of thought.
“People have an average of 60,000 thoughts per day, and 95% are the same ones repeated. So, we don’t have a negative thought just once; we have it over and over, and this keeps us from manifesting our destiny.”
3. Make positivity a habit.
“I file negativity under ‘bad habits’ because they don’t go away just because someone says to love yourself. Self-love is a daily practice.”
4. Use poetry.
“We give our friends advice, but we never give ourselves advice. Write down what you need to hear; root for yourself. Be the captain of your own team and use those affirmations as a tool.”
5. Make yourself a priority!
“Too often we put ourselves last on the list. To use positive affirmations and expressive writing in your life, you have to make time to focus on yourself.”
WHAT WILL WOMEN OF THE FUTURE WEAR?
Becca McCharen, creative director and founder of the womenswear label Chromat, led a show-and-tell of next-gen wearable tech. Her designs include 3D-printed dresses, workout gear that responds to your body temp, and runway looks inspired by bioluminescence. Among the frontiers she’s exploring: responsive garments that use biomimicry, record data, and could someday make you invisible.

Celeb fitness artist Nicole Winhoffer led the class through a mood-boosting session of her innovative NW Method that syncs with the beat, opens the mind, and gives you a full-body workout. Gym class, she believes, should be fun.
