Jenny Packham Spring 2015
September 22, 2014
One of the many perks of attending New York Fashion Week is getting backstage access. Not only do you get a first look at the clothes and accessories before they walk the runway, but also you can see the process of getting the beauty look, from start to finish.
This season, British designer Jenny Packham found inspiration in Marilyn Monroe for her Spring 2015 collection. The 1950s beauty icon accordingly inspired the beauty look, which in the design team’s words evoked a “demure, confident and unmistakably seductive woman.”
Laura Mercier makeup artist Talia Shobrook shows us how to get the runway shows’ Marilyn Monroe-inspired look. Follow the steps of the flawless face and mysterious eyes that Talia created for the show:
Prepare the skin with Laura Mercier Moisture Creme Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen, generously massaging it into your face to awaken the complexion. Next, apply Foundation Primer to create an even canvas, and then cover minor skin imperfections using Secret Concealer, as needed. To highlight cheekbones, Talia recommends Eye Basics in Linen. Lastly, use the Contour Kit for contouring your cheeks.
To achieve the mysterious-eyes look, apply Matte Eye Colour in Ginger in the crease of the eyelids. Then, sweep Matte Eye Colour in Truffle on the lower lash line and the upper outside corner of the lash line, flicking it out very slightly. Afterwards, use Eye Basics in Linen all over the lid and underneath the eyebrow, rim your inner eyes with Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Pink Opal. The final touch should be filling in your brows in your personal shade to ensure a natural look.
