For over 45 years, Stefano Ricci has been providing authentic Italian style to men around the globe. With production entirely carried out in Italy, the label exudes boundless elegance and refined taste. Heritage and family are nested in its DNA: Stefano Ricci himself is president of the brand and works closely with his sons Niccolò and Filippo, who both hold important roles within the family company.
The Fall/Winter 2017 collection offers a classic look aligned for daily city life as well as relaxing moments. We spoke to the man himself to learn more about the company’s history and his relationship with Neiman Marcus.

 

Neiman Marcus: We were thrilled to have you tour our locations across the country. What was your favorite moment from this experience?

Stefano Ricci: I really enjoyed visiting Miami, Houston, Dallas, and Scottsdale. It was a great experience to visit our Neiman Marcus shops and meet up with old and new friends. It’s always a lovely feeling to see how much work the Neiman Marcus family has put into supporting Stefano Ricci. In Dallas, we experienced an incredible dinner in a historic private residence, and, in Scottsdale, we had Neiman Marcus guests with us during the Celebrity Fight Night XXIII Celebrating Ali Tribute Gala, where I received the Muhammad Ali Foundation Award. It was a wonderful moment.

 

NM: Tell us about the brand’s heritage. What does your company value most?

SR: The company was founded in 1972 with an idea to turn the role of the tie, a simple accessory item, into a real protagonist of menswear. The company is based upon the exceptional quality found in pure items made in Italy, created with a craftsmanship that is passed down through generations.

NM: You were recently awarded the Six Star Diamond Award for being a pioneer in fashion, interiors, and overall luxury. What does this accomplishment mean to you?

SR: I’m extremely proud of it! We have been working exclusively with Neiman Marcus as a department store in the U.S. for over 20 years. We’ve experienced exponential growth together, and we really feel part of the Neiman Marcus family.

 

NM: Describe the Stefano Ricci man this season. What are his favorite activities, and where is he going in these pieces?

SR: Our products are created for gentlemen who are constantly searching for timeless elegance and the highest level of quality in terms of fabrics and custom-tailoring services. Whether he’s working, lounging, or traveling, the Stefano Ricci man always looks stylish without having to compromise on comfort or quality.

NM: What new design techniques did you incorporate into the spring collection?

SR: Using exclusively the highest quality materials, elegance was key in all designs this season.

One of the pieces that stands out is a two-button suit in 100% exclusive Super 160’s and 180’s wool containing the Africa motif on Antico Setificio Fiorentino silk.

 

NM: Name one piece from this collection that every man needs to own.

SR: A true gentleman should have a tuxedo, a frac [tail coat], and a Stefano Ricci tie set.

NM: If you had to give men one piece of advice, what would it be?

SR: If you look comfortable in what you’re wearing, you’ll look good.
