50 and Fabulous!
September 22, 2015
Sip a “Big D” Martini and help celebrate 50 years of unparalleled luxury at NorthPark and Neiman Marcus.
How does one of the country’s foremost shopping centers, which brings in more than $1 billion in sales a year and is heralded for its unique architecture, luxury tenants and natural landscaping, celebrate 50 years of incomparable shopping? NorthPark Vice President Nancy A. Nasher kicked off this fall’s golden anniversary celebration by announcing Fifty Years of Giving: NorthPark’s commitment to make charitable donations to 50 outstanding Dallas nonprofit initiatives. Recipients range from an after-school theater group for at-risk teens to yoga and art opportunities for local veterans.
Although NorthPark has doubled in size since opening, Neiman Marcus is its sole remaining original tenant and is doing its part to mark the milestone in style. NM hosted 50th anniversary shopping events during the center-wide celebration kickoff, delighted shoppers by handing out signature chocolate chip cookies and released The Mermaid Bar’s special anniversary menu of cocktails and entrees that serve as a nod to some of its most popular dishes through the decades. Diners can settle in for a nostalgic chicken potpie, “Big D” Martini (Absolut Citron, Grand Marnier, lemon juice and twist) and other specialties throughout the fall season. Ken Downing also hosted an in-store Lafayette 148 New York runway show where he remarked that this fall, “All roads lead to the 1970s in a very chic and a very modern way.”
At NorthPark, helping to mark the festivities were Dallas notables David J. Haemisegger, Brent Christopher, Ryan Anthony, Maxwell Anderson, Michal Powell and Kathleen LaValle.
Here, five fashionable ways you can join in toasting NorthPark and Neiman Marcus NorthPark’s very-festive 50th.
