Social Butterflies: Carolina Herrera to be honored at The Crystal Charity Ball Fashion Show and Luncheon
September 16, 2016
NM’s Make Some Noise® campaign recognizes bold women with bold voices—and, my, does Carolina Herrera fit the bill. In addition to dressing influencers from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Bella Swan, the CFDA award winner has received an honorary doctorate from the Fashion Institute of Technology, served as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society, championed the global fight against malnutrition, and raised funds and awareness for the EIF Women’s Cancer Research Fund. And those are just the highlights.
In honor of the designer’s many accomplishments, and the 35th anniversary of her label (which NM has proudly carried since its launch), Herrera will receive The Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion at the annual Crystal Charity Ball Ten Best Dressed Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Dallas flagship on Sept. 16. Instituted in 1938 by Stanley Marcus, the award adds Herrera to an elite class of honorees including Coco Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Armani, and 2013 honoree, Karl Lagerfeld.
While in town, the designer will also present her Resort 2017 collection to hundreds of Dallas’ best-dressed. “I’m so honored,” says Herrera. “Neiman Marcus has been a dear friend and partner since the very beginning, and their ongoing support is invaluable.”
In a nice bit of timing, NM collaborated with Herrera on an exclusive butterfly theme capsule collection, available online and in stores. Coming soon: the lush career retrospective Carolina Herrera: 35 Years in Fashion. Look for it on NeimanMarcus.com.
