Neiman Marcus will donate $1 for every retweet of this tweet, up to $10,000, to youth arts education via The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation, which supports multiple national and local 501(c)3 organizations. Retweet by November 4!

Why youth arts education?

Art has always been dear to us at Neiman Marcus. Our stores are filled with original artwork and have longstanding partnerships with art institutions in their cities. Our corporate art collection was founded by none other than Stanley Marcus and is directed today by our on-staff art curator.

“Art enhance[s] the quality of people’s lives and the customer’s shopping experience,” said Mr. Marcus, who founded the collection by acquiring an Alexander Calder mobile in the Fifties.

Today, by partnering with local nonprofit organizations, we hope to impact the lives of youth through enriching arts experiences. Involvement in the arts is proven to create better learners, fosters creativity and innovation, and builds stronger, more vibrant communities.

We welcome your involvement in this effort. It’s The Heart of Neiman Marcus.

Its an absolute tragedy, and a cultural crime that the Calder Mobile was removed from the Beverly Hills store. There are some things that are sacred in the art world and that mobile was as much a part of the store as it is of Los Angeles. When you are done borrowing it & showing off please return it along with the other Calder works.
